About me

I’m a nature, climate, environment and conservation storytelling and communications specialist. My work is motivated by curiosity, compassion, optimism and my love of the natural world.

I’ve been working in and around Australia’s media sector for more than 15 years as a journalist, writer, producer and communications professional. My work has spanned television, radio, online, print and social media.

I worked for ABC News and Current Affairs for a decade as a reporter, producer and radio newsreader. My work on the flagship 7.30 current affairs television program was recognised with a prestigious Quill Award for excellence in journalism.

I left the ABC to move into dedicated storytelling and communications for Zoos Victoria and then the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF).

I founded my freelance business Gus Goswell Media in 2024 because I love telling stories and helping others become more confident and powerful storytellers. I’m fascinated by the craft of storytelling and human connection.

I love to work with people, organisations and businesses that share my passion for the beauty and wonder of the natural world and who inspire me with their vision for creating a better world.
